for a stock SS on street tires to run 12.9 in the heat is just impressive! Pure stock! That is not bad at all! I know Late Model Turbo RX7's are fast too. But when you nail it and a lower engine speed in a V8 and just feel it put you in the seat for close to a 4000RPM run it is nice. dont get me wrong I know the RX7s put you back in the seat but it is different. My grandma has an Eclipse GT and it will more or less run till about 90mph with my Mustang GT. It feels fast and I ran it at gateway and hit 15.3 @ 91mph. It was a different kind of pull though. It pulled more in the upper RPm band. As my Mustang is a lower rpm band car. Above 5200rpm there is basically no power. But if I am at a rolling start like 10mph I will just haul ***. Little tire spin if I am just running on the gas at about 1800-2200rpm and floor it!
Those camaros are the same way maybe even a bit more low end grunt!

it is nice to get kills on the highway but you never know if they are going all out or just bad drivers. if you really want to test your cars and driving ability goto the local drag strip for an accurate time that you can actually compare to other cars

i still say the drag strip is cooler. i can video tape it also with lights etc.

first off, to get video from camcorder to computer you need a video card that has video capabilites like the ATI all-in-wonder pro128 www.ati.com
and also, my step dad has a stock '99 z28... and he can pull my TII with no problem (before haltech)... the z28 is a bad *** car, and it has the torque to really throw you back... his is a 6-speed though....but still, a difference between an automatic and a standard is simply consistency... an automatic is much more consistent and they usually will shift right at the end of your powerband... standards only allow you more control over when you want to shift, and just cause you dig deep into the red doesn't mean that you are accelerating that much faster... one other thing bout automatics is no power shifting, unless you get a shift kit... but differences in the quarter mile, both with the same driver, are not all that great, exspecially not by more then a second... just my input
and like stang, I'm not saying you didn't do it...

A relatively stock TII wouldn't have a chance, but once you start modding them they can surprise alot of people.
