Question then.... not saying you didnt beat one...

but you sure he tried fully?

Or you sure it was a real Z28?

A lot of V6 autos running around with Z28 badging..

Even an auto Z28 will run low to mid 13's.....

It sounds like up to the 92 year non of the Rx7's would break 14.5.... at least stock...

Heck I cant break 14.5 stock in my GT....

14.8 yes but would at least need gears and mufflers to break 14.5 that and better traction!

Those cars are rated at 320 but have been proven to put out closer to 350 at the crank. Since they are still dynoing at near 300hp at the wheels if not like 308 or so....

Not saying it didnt happen and not trying to stir up anything but those things are pretty fast...

The V6 auto's may run 16 second passes which seems more comparable to some of those RX7's. V6 Camaros are rated at 200hp.

The V6 runs mid 16's. I've raced one at the track, and it was stock. I think it pulled a 16.7. I read that the 98 SS ran mid to low 14's. That would put the Z28 around mid to low 15's, maybe high 14's.

No way 01 SS's which have the same motor will run 12.9 with a good driver!!!

got that in the latest issue of MM&FF it is under "THE ENEMY"

An 01 Z28 will run 13.3 13.4 with a good driver

Which means high 13's low 14's for a bad driver and mid 13's to high 13's for a decent driver!

I know it was a Z28. The straight pipes on a v6 sound very different.Besides are u kinda me?, as stock 1gen could crush a 01' v6 camaro. Rx-7s are gear for fast 0-60 not Qmiles. Besides i used to have a G-tech and have gone to tracks,to watch i have seen cars, like s2000 pull 15'2 when stock they pull likhigh12's low 13's. Its all about the driver, Unless auto like his camaro.

Don't believe what u read in magazines and tv, ask anyone who has experience with carswither racing or mechanic, they say the same.

there is a white 2000 Z28 camaro with a full stereo and an auto with full exhaust running 13.4 this is at gateway international raceway in St.louis. He is there on sleeper nights. That is all that is done to the camaro... No gears.. no NOS... no supercharger.... I dont think he even has headers... stock engine... but from the manifolds back it is 3 inch exhaust until it goes into the muffler.

5-speed?. The one i raced was auto and 98'-probably high 14's,but his 0-60 is like 6-7. I raced him to 60 not 90. My car gets up there quick but past there is no lightning fast. And remember my cars got roughly 200hp, 2600lbs, gear low tranny and rear end, five speed. Those camaros are like 3600-3700lbs. So they need like 300hp to run with me.And they geared for higher top ends and Q-miles.
