I just got home from cruising around and I got a nice thrill victory over what looked like a brand new civic ex. I have an 85 gs 12a with header, no cats str8 thru to muffler and a rebuilt semi modded nikki. We were both driving on the highway and he first passed me doing about 75ish. Its about 1am and not many cars on the road. I could tell he was flooring it cause his car started to accelrate faster. So I hit mine to the floor and caught up to him and followed him for a bit till I knew a safe area to hit on it. Then we make the curve and I make my move to pass him on the highway at about 90. My liitle rex just kept revving and accelerating and past him and left him in the dust. He tryed to catch up and I had a good 40 yards on him at about 110 mph. The car felt like it wanted to go faster, but I held it at that speed. Good thing the cops were'nt around, I dont usually go past 80 in my RX and tonight was the first time I hit triple digits with an civic whoopin

 

lol nice! i jimi rigged a ram air hood on an 85 i had a few years back and i could hold 120 on the interstate in colorado with elevation of more than a mile!

 

Nice, I was thinking about doing that to my car. I am still debating on splurging for the sterling. I wrote to Dennis at Sterling Metal Works and he said an 8-10 week wait which is long. I guess I could go the racing beat Holley route but 900 for their carb is crazy expensive and I dont know how much added power I would get for that kind of money.

 

i dunno, i honestly think my previous fb was faster with the stock nikki's than my current one with weber dcoe's but that may just be that i need to tune mine. haven't had the time since i bought it

 

good kill man. the fastest i got my 1st rx was 140!!! it was street ported with no interior and a lightened steel flywheel.

 

lol i hit 160 in my fd at the end of 4th gear but i chickened out after that, i don't think i'll ever top it out unless i'm on a dry lake lol

poorguy... your speedo is wrong in the FD... redline in 4th gear is about 144mph.

 

My T2 runs 104 in fourth at redline at the strip. I don't wanna know how fast she'd go in fifth.

i know my speedo's off but my radar detector is linked to gps to tell me my speed when i get pinged. i've been pinged at 104 (didn't get caught though) and my speedo was only 5mph off. my 3rd gear maxes out at 90 and i have the drag strip to confirm that
