I was taking Rt. 66 north to Yukon last night when this new Civic hatchback thing starts pacing me. I've never seen this kind of civic before it was really sleek and almost looked like a focus hatchback. But it had the letters I-vtec or something on the side.



Anyhow he starts following and eventually starts to pass me. So I downshift to second and gun it. The car just heavs and takes off. At third I floored it and again the car heavs forward. By the time I wrap out third, its clear the civic isn't catching up so I let off. I maybe had two cars on him.

I wasn't very impressed. I thought I heard a bov when he pulled up next to me. Maybe it was fake bov?



The night before I also raced an old firebird with a 406 on the highway, but was interrupted when someone pulled in front of me.

Yea, the new Ivtec civic hatchbacks do kind of resemble the focus, lol..who cares, they're all ugly & slow...



Nice kill. Turbo civics that I've seen(I've seen a bunch of 'em) will run a low 13 to high 12 at best...its sad really...all that money, and no gain...

nice kill. it most likely was one of those fake blowoff valves because it seems he didnt even put up much of a fight

I agree. When I started, I could hear his engine wind up, but after switching to third he didn't really seem to be keeping up. I think he might have let off or something, perhaps he's still trying to break his engine in.



As for the fake turbo whistle, I see alot of that around here. But his didn't sound fake. It might have been my bov for all I know. I doubt it, but I'm still getting used to all the new noises my car makes now.
