Get some sandable primer and coat the part with ablut 2-3 coats.

Lightly sand it smooth with 400 grit wet/dry paper.

Repeat till smooth. Use your favorite color spray and recoat with about 3-4 coats.

Best to let dry apx. 40 min between coats.

you might try some plasti-kote from advance.. I have used this on the center consloe of my fb... it was black to start with and now it is 414 red plasti-kote... matches my carpet very well.. I do suggest light coats after scubbing very thoughly.. and cleaning with acohol.. or thinnner.. some fish eyes do happen.. at least they did do me.. but the light coats make a big difference

i think those carbon fiber layover pieces look cheap.. least in pictures.. i've yet to see one in person. The car is white and just want to keep a black dash. Not into painting it all sorts of different colors. However i ran into that site where the guy will overlay carbon fiber to the dash peices, but i have no clue as to what the actual work looks like in person.

Is it a waste of time to repaint, or should i just buy an overlay. You guys let me know what kits you think are best for this, and if any of you have it on your car, if you could please post a picture that would be great too!
