Why you paid at all for an incomplete job is beyond me. They left you without a working car, so technically they didn't just fail to complete the job, they actually made the car worse than it wasa. Also, it's a law in some places that if a mechanic gives you a quote, they must inform you of any raises in that quote before continuing work. Also, if your housings were cracked and still ported, it stands to reason that the guy never intended to finish the job correctly anyway. I'd say go to court and get your money back... hell, get compensatory damages awarded for the guy breaking your car. Sure, there may be other sides of the story, but if this is really the state of the car after paying $1800, then you're entitled to something.

He was asked to pay $1500 up front, and the $300 was towing fees.

where is that shop??? i think rotaryrocket hinted that it was in AC?????any way if it is in nj there is a place in blackwood that is a little closer. go to jpr racing on rt 168 in blackwood, nj 856-765-0161. ask for jim he's a really cool guy. all he works on is rotaries. he's really honest. not a mechanic trying to get ur money by knowing what other mechanics dont know.

I understand, but he should be fighting for his money back after this whole scenario. That's what I mean.
