i dunno, joe treats me, my car, and the 4 people that i have reccomended that they take their cars to him like gold.
On top of all of that, your story is totally ******* one sided, all i've heard is good things about J&R. If play ******* hardball with a guy at a shop, he'll do it right back. We've done it at my shop, when a customer says that they want a F355 motor rebuilt for 3 grand, and the headgaskets cost that much at net. We reuse them, too ****** bad

and i agree with him.... if whoever openned up the motor had told him the problems as soon as they are discovered, maybe it wouldnt have escalated to this. maybe he wouldnt have wasted his own time porting an engine.
although i agree with you, this story is one sided..... i'd love to hear the defendant's side of the story.
but even if its one sided.... freedom of speech i guess

LEts pick a jury of peers.
Im not saying J and R doesnt have happy customers but they also have customers who aint happy with them.
If u need to change something on someones car and dont notify them then when the CUSTOMER calls back u tell them a price not origanally agred upon then wtf is up. Notify people like fikes said and then see if they want to spend $4000 or leave it at that!
True i got my opinon, and from what i see i smell foul play. NOt on all the J and R's cases but on this one. Smells like a dirty **** in atlantic city, sorry NJ guys lol im ranting. Im just venting cause i ever was screwed over for money that i know i werked hard for and dont have any of ill be BURnT the **** out!
Rebuild + porting of a FD motor is damn near 8G's canadian. I'm sure that's way over 2500 american...(no jokes here)
3000 doesnt seem that bad at all, maybe a payment plan could be worked out, especially if the shop trusts you to pay. Or maybe just wait a while until you have the money to get your motor rebuilt? You can have the job done correctly or you could have it done half-assed. If you get something half-assed when you dont pay the price they completely want for it, and they still do the work for the price you set out, dont expect to get EXACTLY what you want.
I've been guilty of this in the past im sure of it, i dont blame anyone but myself.

Why sell 1 item for $400 when u can sell 50 for $350? Thats my buisness mentality. Some people(not j and r) try to make a quick buck and in the long run loose out. This has serioulsy damaged J and Rs image. And whoever i talk to, will get my bias opinion!, Cause its mines Free SPeech, glad im not in haiti

truthfully....... if a supposedly reputable shop quoted me for 2500, i will take their word for the price, and uphold their reputation to do the job right.....
