What Inspired You Too Get A Rotary?

Ever sense I was a little kid i would play games like need for speed and junk like that. Of course those cars were way out of my price range. So when i was 15 i really started getting into cars and supras looked real interesting to me. But after lots of research i decided that they were nothing but bloated dyno queen pigs.
Then i stumbled across the RX-7 last year. I started doing extensive research on this Rotary engine stuff. Unique, High Revving, plenty of power, and excellent handling. I was hooked, RX-7's could offer everything i wanted in a car. Now i have saved up plenty of money and as soon as i get home for christmas I hope to find a FD that suits me. Btw im 18 now.

I think it's neat how many of your parents helped you get interested in cars. I hope to be able to pass the interest on to my son. My dad now knows less about cars and engines than I do, but he gave me fundamental knowledge on how to fix things and use tools.

When I was young, I didn't even know about the SA/FB or the FC. All I knew was the FD and how I would never be able to afford one. I knew about rotary engines but didn't know them too well. So in my senior year of highschool in autoshop class, I got to take apart a 12A engine. I was pretty fascinated by the design and how it only had 3 major moving parts. I talked to my shop teacher about it and he told me about the apex seals when I asked why rotaries aren't used in more cars.
Long story short, a year later, I was supposed to buy a running FB for $250 to turn into a track car. Things didn't work out and he sold it before I could get it. I kept looking at and researching FB's but then I found FC's to be in my price range. After a pretty big tax return, I went out and bought my '88 NA. After I buy my new FC next week, that makes it 4 FC's that I've had in less than a year.

It's funny how many people would pull an apostle to be be Ito's apprentice. Leave their job, family, all their posessions just to follow a man on a rotary powered journey.
