I loved 2 cars for a LONG time:
Nissan Skyline GT-R BNR34
Mazda Rx-7 Infini IV FC3S
Since I can't get either one here, I got a base FC. It found me really. I always used to drive by this corner house on the way to work. It looked sad. So I decided to ask the guy if he wanted to get rid of it. He let it go for 500 bucks (460 actually) and all it took to get it running was pulling the EGI fuse and cranking it for a few minutes. It has its problems (see 2nd gen topics and you'll see) but for the price, I love this car. I'm probably going to be getting a TII soon (please god) and I've been in love ever since

A few years ago I was looking for a car to buy. I wanted a pretty fast light car that revved high and had a turbo. At first I was intrigued by the 240 Z and the
280 zx, because they were light and cheap. Then I wanted a supra (TURBO). But when I first found out that RX-7s existed and found out that they had the ability to rev over 10,000 RPMs and have turbos, I knew I needed to own one. I guess it was a growth in tastes that made me want a rotary powered engine and the uniqueness about how they function really closed the deal. But currently I a rotaryless. I am negotiating a 1988 TII right now.

When I was really young still in primary school a mates older sister's boyfriend had a white RX-4. We used to hang out there after school. This thing was Bridgeported off it's ****!!! Weber Carby, Full exuast. It was the most amazing thing I had ever heard. It was way over 100db at idle. I was like what the f$%k is that. "It's a rotor" was the reply.
I lived at the edge of our suburb and this guy had to drive past my house to go home at night. I lived on a corner block and late one night I heard him coming up the street. He sat out the front of my place for a few moments and I was wondering what the hell he was doing. Next thing he takes it to about 8K or 9K and drops the clutch. He absolutely took the c#$*t out of it through all gears screaming down the street past my bedroom window.
From that moment on I had to have one when I grew up. I asked my dad and uncles all about them and they said they were quick but unreliable. Everybody tried to talk me out of getting one but my mind was made up. I read everything I could on them, mags, books etc to find out as much as possible.
Going through high school my sisters boyfriend and a mate had a Series 1 RX-7 and a 12A 808 Coupe. Riding in them just made me want one even more.
When I turned 17 I bought a Series 2 RX-7. Left it stock and it ran like a dream everyday for about six years. Until I traded her in about a year ago for my Series 4. I plan on keeping it for a little while longer until the finances are there for a Series 6 or Series 7.
My ultimate dream in life is to own an FD. I will die happy after that. I think I will have a rotary always. I love them. Will have to get an RX-8 if I have kids to put them in the back.
Long live the Rotors..

My story is quite long so I'll make a super long story short. When I was born in 1971 my mother was taking to the hospital to give birth to me in a 1970 Mazda R100 station wagon with a 10A bridgeport engine @ 10,000 rpms full throttle. Later she was rushed into the operating room. The Doctor that handled the C-section on my moms and later cut my hombilical cord was a rotary engine guru and before he cut my cord he blessed and or kinda of baptized me with the good rotary engine spirit. Later through out my early years I had a rotary engine angel following, guiding me. When I became of age (12 years old) I worked on my first Rx3 12A. Ill cut this story short and finishing with my signature. I did not choose, I was chosen.
Some of this story is fiction some of it is TRUE. I surely do Love the rotary engine.

I only had a crappy old motorcycle, then a nice new one. I never was much into cars, I didn't get my license until I was 18, and I didn't get my first car until I was 20. I learned all about piston motors, and then rotary motors on www.howstuffworks.com, where I quenched my extreme thirst for knowledge.
I saw an add for 2 2nd gen rx-7s in the paper for $1,700, and got all excited. My wife just said, "You want 'em?" So we went that same day, and she bought them for me. I thought she was joking up until she whipped out that checkbook.
Oh, so what inspired me was that from what I read, it was reliable and powerful, different, and for $1,700 a good running car with a parts car is a good deal.
