[quote name='94touring' date='May 24 2005, 08:52 PM']Did you just change the oil by any chance? If you're like me you overfilled the oil, causing massive blow by out the catch can. The smoke you see is the oil being slung on the exhaust from the leak. You can also give a quick tighten on the motor mount bolts and see if that does anything.

That sounds like it might be my problem.. 'cept the oil level was real low after awhile.

Well if the oil level was low then probably a leak. I kept slinging oil all over the place and my oil level was always full. That had me confused for awhile for some stupid reason.

youre sure that the smoke is coming from out of the exhaust and not from getting on the exhaust and blowing out the back?

I had so much oil under my car, I sprayed oil on the windshield of cars behind me. Doing 100mph + though.

Putting the cat back on last night, I found the leaks! Primarily the oil drain plug - gasket is shot, and secondarily (this explains the puff of smoke through the vented hood when I stop quick) the oil return line to the #2 turbo. The oilpan drip is pretty bad, coming right off the drain plug and covering everything rearward. Other than those two things, it all checks out.

Gonna change the oil, get a belt and take 'er in for emissions today, try to get tags. I hope she passes the first time, lol

Yah. On our Euraka springs trip I sprayed oil over our buddy Tim's car while we were racing some mustang. The oil it slung on the exhaust was rather smokey too.

Throw some silicon on the plug and call it good for now.
