has anybody here separated two soldered copper pipes? don't you just heat up the lead connection again and slowly try to separate the pipes? i tried last night but i wasn't able to even budge the pipes even though the lead looked about ready to drip. i'm trying to replace my house's water heater.

why don't u just take a hack saw and cut a little before the connection point and then just run a slightly longer copper pipe when u reinstall the new heater
