I lost the key to the other vert I had, a locksmith made me a new

key from the truck lock. Apparantly the trunk lock contained

all the information needed to make a new key, there was like

10 different things they needed, glove box only had a few, door only

a few, but the truck had all of them.

For $25 they made 3 keys and I only had to give them the trunk lock.
Truck?

Well you could pay a locksmith to get the key out.. or try getting it out by using a paper clip or two.. you usually need two because one would be to move the tumblers out of the way while the other would be to stick in there and oucll the key out.. How? well the tool we use is like the thickness of a paper clip.. maybe a bit thinner.. but the lil rod it self is textured so that once you stick it in the lock and pull the texture on it will grip the key and pull it out.. if that makes sense... if not PM me..

Jon- Did they have new key's with the black plastic overmold?

I've always been meaning to score another one for the T2...but I tried one dealer and only had the Ilco straight metal ones...Thanks!
if they dont they can order the correct ones. the ilco keys are $.30 while the mazda keys are $5, thats why they have the ilco ones

why dont you just take the handle off and take it to a locksmith to get it out

or at that point get it out yourself.

its only 2 10mm nuts and 2 clips

by the way kevin- try taking that new key to a wire wheel on a bench grinder

and see if it fits better.
