I don't know if they are OEM, but there are tons of keys for RX-7's for sale on Ebay.

Back in my youthful days of innocent ignorance, I used my only key to adjust the drum brakes on my car, and it broke. I soldered a wire in the groove down the key and basically soldered the key back together. Then I took it to a hardware store and got it copied. The new key worked great.

I lost the key to the other vert I had, a locksmith made me a new

key from the truck lock. Apparantly the trunk lock contained

all the information needed to make a new key, there was like

10 different things they needed, glove box only had a few, door only

a few, but the truck had all of them.

For $25 they made 3 keys and I only had to give them the trunk lock.

Any dealer must be able to cut their make's keys! We cut them everyday, **********ers lose too many keys.

Edit: You don't even need the whole VIN, just the last 8 digits, 6 will do too, but some computers need to use 8 sometimes. BTW, our parts dept. can cut ANY key, import or domestic. Beat that biatch. LOL

I know with the key code they can, dont know why they bother

to give a key code if the VIN number alone can tell them

how to make new keys?

if they keys not coded, and depending on where it was broken you could go to a locksmith place to have a new one made. if its not broken on where the teeth are you can stilll get one made.

home depot to the rescue, soldered my key together took it to them and the cut me a new one, its a snug *** fit tho.

and accidentally i used the soldered one to try to unlock my passenger door...lost half the key in the lock. SOOOOOOOO any ideas on how to get the half out? i can use the broken half to unlock the door still but would like to take it out as a safety precaution.
