my shifter is acting wierd as ****. 1st second 5th and reverse are fucked up. thare is like space to the side of the gear that i can put the shifter into put its not actually a gear and it ends up being in nuetral. like i can put the shifter so it looks like its in second but its actually in some kinda empty space next to second and i have to fiddle with it to get it in the right slot... i dunnjo wtf is wrong... i think i need new bushings but that doesn tseem like it would fix this problem?

it sounds like the shifter is poping out of it's seat, which means the bushing is poo

any way you look at it, new shifter bushings, if they haven't been done in a long time, will make a HUGE difference, it will almost be like a new car

sounds like shifter bushing. order them from mazdatrix and it should take u about 10-15 mins to replace. dont forget the paper/plastic gaskets that go with them though.
