what model numbers are these?

I'd take the plasma in 720 myself, the only way to get a proper 1080p signal is bluray, so the only time the plasma will ever give up picture quality to anything is watching a bluray disc.

i ended up firing down on the Sony 40S4100 Bravia LCD. I guess I'm too scared of plasma break in, image retention, ghosting and flicker. And on the above point about blu-ray, I did snag a PS3 as well.

I hate how sports broadcasts put the score thingie in the same spot all the time, but at least they take it off every couple of minutes.

And it's like an IMAX in here now. The football game was pretty impressive last night, can't wait for my HDMI cables to arrive to see if they are noticeably better than the component on 1080i signal.

i'm gonna chime in on a few things........ i work for Sony.... the tvs are great VERY low failure rate. plasma sucks. dieing tech. current lcds can reach plasma black levels and it doesnt matter if you tilt the tv, no burn in, lighter thinner, cheaper etc. there is a reason sony dropped plasmas! lcd ONLY since around a year ago.

i very recently sold my 2 year old aquos 42" and picked up a kdl40xbr6. there is no comparison.... the sony BLOWS the sharp away in every respect

i have one HUGE complaint about only STREAMING MOVIES! they DO NOT HAVE surround sound?????? WTF! bullshit. for that reason alone i will rent blurays. i want my dolby true hd 7.1 channel surround sound!

ahhhhhhhhhh rant over haha
