I don't think Ive purchased anything from CC in nearly 5 years. Hated that store, horrible customer service.

for the best info on circuit city, stay up to date with gizmodo.com, you wouldve found out about the TV scam before you even went there.

They tried to sell me a 4 year extension on the warranty for $600!!!! Only thing good about it was if you didn't use it by the end of the term you got it back as a store credit.

yeah LOL I picked up a panasonic 52" 720p plasma for my living room a few months ago foe like 700 because this guy was moving and they wanted more to move the tv across country then it was worth. So we got a great deal picked it up from ny state and now rock 360 on it all day

Wellll.... now I'm trying to decide between the Samsung 42" Plasma 720p and the Sony Bravia LCD 40" LCD 1080P... Thoughts? Viewing distance is about 7 feet.

one thing to look into too I know of several 720 models that can be upgraded to 1080 with a thumb drive or something like that. personally i would go with a 1080 i can definitely notice a difference between 480 720 and 1080 on high def stuff.

Hmmm.. I'm looking at entry-level stuff. I don't know that the 720 can be upgraded- at least there's no mention of it on avsforum. Also the 720 is $749 and the 1080 is $999, but I'm mostly concerned about things like break-in, image retention, black level, peripheral viewing.
