Anyone know anything about them?
I am selling my 60 inch rear projection and looking at a 40 to 50 inch plasma, the projection isnt worth shipping to costa rica and it takes up half our tv room as it is. Anyhow, there seems to be a MASSIVE price difference in the plasma's, i mean one 42 will be 1500 and the next 3000, i dont see any difference i the specs, wut am i missing? |
Consumer Reports has done several articles on buying plasma tv's and compared the technology with other types of sets. I really haven't read them because my cheap ass will be watching this puny 32" picture tube set until it starts to smoke or the screen goes dark, whichever comes first.

consumer reports charges for their **** and i am poor. Haha. Yer funny. 26 bucks a year buys their magazine, and you're going to drop 3 grand on a TV? If you don't buy it tonight, I'll read up and let you know tomorrow. I suspect the old wisdom will hold more or less true: You get what you pay for. |
oh hell no i am not going to buy it for a month or so. i want to get an idea of wut the sales are like.
The HP plasmas look really nice, lots of good features and high aspect ratio |
get LCD instead, the cabinets are pretty slim, they can be fixed, and have better pictures.

really i thought the plasma looked better from multiple angles

yea, you're poor, with your 60" projector screen, looking at a 50" plasma... I have a 22" vac tube thats older than I am that I rescued from a flooded basement. Ill take that 60" off your hands :-)

DLP is all I have to say.
Or an LCD like Rob said, and they can be fixed, and video games run smoother on it compared to a plasma. |
