The Passion
you are assuming that there is no such thing as a universal truth. while some may see this as true, Christians view everything in the bible as universal, undeniable truths. as a result, other religions are viewed as false and subsequently worthless. realize i said "religions" not the practicers of those religions.
your statement that some religions might all be right is false. stick to the notion of what you later said that some might be right and some might be wrong. chrisitiany says it is the only way to God and the only way to Heaven, stating that other religions are wrong. as a result, christianity is either right and every thing else wrong, or it is wrong and something else right.
the main purpose of a Christian is to spread the truth they know to unbelievers so they get the chance to accept it (God and the sacrificial death of His Son) as truth or not. their decision will be the basis of God's judgement in the afterlife.
i believe in a universal truth, that a perfect and holy God created this world and it's inhabitants with a free will to choose to accept him or not.
i believe this world is overflowing with facts of this universal truth, and that science and history/archeology are only now coming of an age to support the truth.
numerous scientists are speaking out against evolution with a new theory of Intelligent Design, realizing the complexity of life in this earth and the statistical improbablility of evolution.
other scientists have shown that this world was indeed created and will eventually end (steven hawkin, "a brief history of time")
i get tired of people telling me they dont seek a relationship with God because they hate religion or hate christian people or dont understand the precepts of faith or doubt God's existance. the fact is, if you have questions, you should look for answer's instead of making up excuses, that or just admit the facts that you dont care and dont want God in your life.
It's funny that religion is the only area in a persons life where you blindly accpet things that are spoon fed you without even questioning them. Imagine if the government told you that Bush is going to be the President next term. Don't bother going to the polls we decided that is best for you, and also it is no illegal to be out past 9:00 PM on weekdays.
I'm sorry if I offended anyone it was not my intention (yeah I guess it kinda was) but we live in a Christian nation, and although I feel Christian values are a GOOD thing, blindless devotion to ANYTHING is not a good thing. So I guess I'm just trying to say never accept an answer that you have not looked at from every possible angle and evaluated it on it's own merit.

exactly, they all got killed, proof that they have many weak spots, which also proves the bible is real.

Perhaps I'm misinterpeting your statement,
Me challenging others to re-think their life and values is simply a challenge. It is not degrading, it is not a put-down, it is simply an offer.
Rather, if you or anyone were confident in what you believed, you would not be as defensive. *I do understand some of it though.
Case-in-Point: There are several of you asking me to rethink who I "think" is God. Now, when I reply in saying "Nah...it's Him, He's real" some of you assume I haven't pondered the possibility of other faiths/beliefs being true...but that's just a poor assumation to make. I have read/know a lot about others. I also wouldn't take offense to the re-thinking possibility because I am confident, and also understand the reasoning behind the question/proposal.
Many religions DO relate to Christianity, they borrow things, add things, and take things away.
While Rx7Aggie might be defending what we believe perhaps too boldly for you, again...I believe many center in on the wrong side of religion:
Just find God. Simple as that. I found Him and know Him. Doesn't matter to me how he made earth, in a million years or 6 days. Doesn't matter if I missed a sunday at church...what matters is...we know each other.
My challenge was just that if you had let tradition, religion, or people like me and Aggie sway you away from God...don't. We are not God (Duh), and He should be the provider of the answers you seek ultimately...not us.

Many, many more scientists beleive in evolution. The small percentage that beleives in Intelligent Design have no real basis for this beleif other than the fact that "evolution seems an IMPROBABLE answer."
Someone tell me why they can't.
It's about interpretation.

I don't understand why people can't see that evolution and creationism can coincide.

As of right now, I am bordering my decesion on no, just because of the lack of proof and the problem i have with following something with blind faith.
