Yeah. This del Sol might be a tad quicker than your car now, but it'll never be all that fast, unless you run boost or NOS, and hell, you can do that with your RX-7. Just be sure to do it right. I would also look into changing your rear axle ratio. You can trade some of the top end for quicker acceleration.
As far as availability of aftermarket high performance parts goes, support for the rotary is excellent. It's just that you won't find high performance RX7 parts next to the K & N filters and the kazoo muffler tips at your local auto parts store.

My 7 was cheap when I got it ...I got more mods in it right now than what I payed for the car..I can probally sell it and still get double of what I got in it..
I love my 7 and wont sell it for nothing...If I had to be home less or to sell my 7 ..I will be homeless...and living in my 7. lol..
I payed $175. for mine at a auction....it cost me $125. in tune up parts to get it running..It ran but the stock carb floats were sticking BUT I decided to save my cash and to buy what I was gonan use downt he road..my 600 double pumper..
Probally 1 week after I got my car running..a friend offered me $700. for it ...I turned it down..
1-2 weeks after that A sales man at my old job offered to pay $2k cash for it...I still Turned it down..probally 3-4 days after that I got hit at the local street races..
Well the FT is all togethere and painted..and im happy for right now..UNTILL I get my STANG eater in shape the way I want it done..
Im hoping next year..around this same time..its done ..im driving it ..and kicking ***...Hopefully it willbe the fastest street drivin street legal 1st gen in Tampa..So Steve you still have a chance to have a fast one..Since you live across the bay...lol

del sol being rare? lol... come live where I live. Its like the rice capital of the world. And del sols are EVERYWHERE around here.. i dont like to say it sinc everyone else did, but yeah, i dont think i've seen 1 del sol with a guy owner around here, and there are many of them around here.
