the thing is, a ferrari is a teeeeeeeny little bit out of my budget range, whereas a couple of X-1/9's are really cheap... even tho a 9000 RPM 308 would be awesome

i dunno about the x-1/9 but the fiat spiders cant take a rotary, they have a really narrow engine bay.

if it was in a MKI MR2, people have been doing trunk mounted intercoolers with holes cut in the bottom for air flow.. and the stock MR2 setup has air being pushed up through the engine bay for cooling, so that wouldnt really be a problem, i think it'd be cool to see a rotary in the back
