My brother just bought an 88 turbo 2 frame with a j spec s4 engine. The engine had crappy compression so 99% sure the seals are crap. He's got rc balanced injectors , a t3/t4 turbo, a vortec fpr, and a tuned ecu for his set up. The guy he bought it from put down 280 rwhp @ 14psi and I'm guessing ragged the hell outta it cause that's a lot of boost for the stock radiator etc. The guy my bro bought it from said that the fuel pump before was acting up and that's what led to the s4's death, he had bought a walbro 255 but it was too late i guess, so we have that now also.

ANYWAYS, my bro bought a j-spec s5 "core" with 35k on it with good compression etc and some tell us we can and some tell us we can't just swap out the "cores" and bolt up all the s4 stuff like the int. / ex/ manifolds, use the s4 wiring harness with the ecu and everything else from the blown s4. So my question relating to that is CAN WE??

Some say the intake manifold will bolt up but not be lined up right, what do y'all think? Some say we'll have to swap out the oil pans? Please tell me what I have to do to make this work, or if everything should swap out like a heart transplant.

Also when we were pulling out the wiring harness we noticed the knock sensor's mother board was cracked in half, the thing is broken, what should we do about that? WHO NEEDS KNOCK SENSORS ANYWAYS! LOL.

I appreciate your help anyone who looks at this post and offers some input, thx

All the s4 stuff will fit on the s5 block and the other way arround. If your going to continue to run that turbo at least get a safc, bigger injectors and get to a dyno. The S5 has higher compression than the S4 so thats something to consider when swapping. If you cant afford an aftermarket ecu or dont want to put the stock turbo back on check this thing out.
