How do I know if my ankle is broke, or sprained. I've never broken a bone before so I don't know what it feels like...

I twisted it approx 24 hours ago. I iced it right after and the swelling went down a lot and it hurts less. The problem is it still hurts to much too much to walk and I am getting a large bruise. I also don't really have full range of motion, but I guess thats expected. So what do you people think? I say bad bad sprain...

hard to say, when I broke my ankle I walked on it for 2 days and the pain just got worse so I figured it was time to go to the dr, but the fact that the swelling has went down is good for sure.

Oh and on a side note, the bruising is usually not good, I have sprained my ankle's prety bad and usually not gotten any extensive bruising, when I broke it that bitch turned all sorts of colors.
