The video is all in good fun. I think any car guy would see the comparisons were ridiculous.

Anyway, a brit complaining about how American cars have shoddy build quality is the pot calling the kettle black.

meh, i still dont like american cars but i mean come on... they have seats and fiats and such.

let's do an srt4 vs a fiat or a cobalt ss vs a seat.

hell if youre gonna try to use the ariel atom, put it against a kit car made in the USA like on of factory five's cars or something.

i could care less that he ripped on american cars but if it was a fair comparison id be more interested. it was still funny to watch.

kevin.

Not to disagree entirely with what you're saying, but there's not a whole lot wrong with seats - loos wise they're up there with Alfa, the new Leon's a lovely looking car and there's a 200bhp version too.

Re. the ariel atom vs. factory 5 thing, in England the kit/track car phenomenom is huge, you're not going to get cars like the atom anywhere else in the world IMO. I remember someone here was looking at a factory 5 (rob I think) and just from looking at the chassis you could see it wasn't up to much. Not that that makes it a bad car - I remember thinking it looked fantastic, and they make some of the most accurate looking cobra replicas IIRC.

if you take a stock rx8, and a factory 5 with its spec series engine (stockish 5.0) the factory 5 is a little faster in the twisties than the 8, but the factory 5 and the rx8 are dead even in the straights.

the atom should absolutely destry the factory 5.

they look neat, but arent fast

I work right next door to Factory Five Racing. And ive seen their new "GTM supercar" in person. If your gonna compare anything to the atom, compare that.

I will tell you why I can't take anything Jeremy Clarkson says seriously... because he is an idiot who in reality knows very little about cars and how to drive them. I have noticed so many inconsistencies in his test drives it is not even funny. He makes so many rookie mistakes that anyone with an ounce of the automotive industry knowledge would never make. From watching this video it is no different…

How can anyone with any amount of credibility make a show that has a segment that clearly states they are pitting a 4.6L V8 mustang against a horse when it is obvious that the mustang he is driving is a V6 model?

If American cars are not his “thing” and his knowledge of them is not that great then he should do some research given he is a freaken automotive Journalist.

The sad part is I see so many of these kinds f mistakes in his tests it is actually sad.

If he would rather look at the rear end of a baboon I suggest he walk by a mirror.

now thats different! when do we start?

my money's still on the atom, btw, although it would be a good race.

4.45lbs/hp for the atom

4.36 for the big block FF

That's the factory 5 model I was on about. Power to weight might be close, but that's just straight like performance, the atom has half the weight to drag around the corners so I reckon it'd do a lot better.

How'd you figure the mustang was a v6? certainly looked and sounded like the roush? Whatever else you can say about clarkson you can't deny he's good at making money. He knows his stuff though, he's been in the business a long time and some of his earlier stuff is really good to watch - turn's out the people that buy his videos are morons, so he just gives them something they can relate to.

The h3 is not anyways. Apparently the h3's are badass offroad, but dont do anything else well...

H3 is built on that shitty econo colorodo chassis isnt it?

and who says the original hummer is in the same price as a range rover?

original hummer will run you well over $130k with no options and no tax
