This guy is selling a polished Alt. Me being me I think "PRETTY" so I send him a question asking which car it came from, S4 S5 or 3rd gen. He answers me by saying its a second gen alt.



Ok.... I ask another question. Is it a S4 or S5 and I explain that they have dif ratings and the plugs are dif.



He answers me with "This will work for any 13b motor 86,87,88,89,90,91,92,and 93-95 setup without serpentine belts. Please do not bid if you are not familar with 13b components and compatibities. I hope this helps. Thank you for your question."

Was I wrong? I thought the alts from 86 to 97 had 3 dif ratings and the S4 had the old style connector.

they are different BUT you technicaly could use it on anything.

 

Definetely not plug and play, there is a topic in the 2nd gen with some great alt info

 

Some of the outer castings can be swapped between different year alternators, but that's about it.
