Yea, I let my car rip on the highway quite a few times, but hardly never in a residential area. If theres anyone that lives in long island , ny, then they know hows theres a nice big strip going towards captree by jones beach, next to the light house, I let my car hit 150mph over there once. I wouldnt of done it if i wasnt aware of my surroundings , theres no one there at the 1am-5am hours.

If it's so important for someone to be one car length ahead that they are willing to race me for it, of course I let them! There are too many idiots on the road who seem to be willing to crash into you for that place that it isn't worth it. You will get home approximately 1 second sooner as a result of your race for the opening in traffic.

That's a pretty bad example actually. If you're racing someone to reach a small opening in traffic, are you watching the guy in front, or the guy trying to get your place in traffic? What happens if the guy in front brakes for no reason and you're going 40 mph faster than he is?

I don't appreciate being pulled over for driving a fast looking car. With all the press street racing gets now, I get pulled over in stop and go traffic. Everytime I saw a new incident in the news last year I parked my car for the next week because it wasn't worth the hassle.

I KNOW my car is faster than 99% of the other cars on the road. Why do I need to race against every dumbass who wants to find out? What do I care what they think? Not only are they a total stranger, many of the stories on the news are "Street racer looses control at 80 mph and sideswipes light post!"

WHY WOULD I WANT TO DRIVE FAST NEXT TO AN IDIOT WHO LOOSES CONTROL OF HIS CAR AT 80 MPH?!?!?!?!

this areguement is worn out anyways, everyone says they don't street race and say how dangerous it is, untill a ricer with a fart pipe cuts them off. I'm not for it nor against it. I have street raced, but don't do it that often.
i specifically said in my post that ill do some high speed runs.

i limit them to highways or wide roads (2 lanes on each side) that i know when and where traffic will be coming onto the road via an intersection or some such thing.

there's only two or three places i'll actually speed on, everywhere else i could careless if some ferrari pulled up or something, id refuse to race it.

i consider myself a good driver (try drifting a durango, its not too easy, altho it was more or less powersliding thru corners, nevertheless it was better drifting then ive seen FD's do lol) but i know when and where to show my abilities...driving down the main street or inner city streets is not the place to show them/.

i could careless if my peers think i can drive or if my car is fast, it's why i dont care about the exterior appearance of my car to be honest.

^ to add to what i just said...i didnt read any of the resposes because i know where this arguement is going to go ... and its so fought over and i dont care right now

all i know is i have lost 4 friends because of street racing, 2 were racing....the other two were hit by idiots racing down the street at 3pm in the afternoon

im not getting into an arguement.....i just hope when you "Street Drag Race" and you get in an accident that you take only your life and not anyone else - like you said its your choice and you take risks........just think about what would happen if you hit an explorer, and it flips over, and it crushes 2 of your good friends along with 3 other of their friends that were on the way to the beach.....

: and do i street race?...no i dont..... have i street raced? no i havent...... i may speed on the highways and have fun on a few roads....but i do it resposibly and i dont hit the limits....because i know if i want to run my car for 15 - 40 dollars you can do it all you want all day long at a safe regulated place made for it

think of it as stealing....you can pay for the race and be safe and legal.....or you can do it for free and risk getting in serious trouble
what about that porsche you were messing around with on the highway when you blew your motor?

Dude just chill out and stop feeling nessassary to argue with everything 4rr says. Its starting to get a bit annoying. If he wants to take the risk, thats his choice.

As far as street racing goes, I have done it a few times, nothing too exciting.

i guess that was responding to my post... i wouldnt assume to know how well the driver can control his car. most of you have seen the video of the camaro powershifting into second and losing control while fishtailing hurling the car into a crowd of onlookers. and that was 40mph its not much harder at 80. this threads goin to the **** hole anyway im waitin for someone to cross the line and a mod to shut it down lol

oh yea sorry about double negation i remanising my cool high school slang, im gangsta from middle class suburbia, u know how it is gigga

its just a very touchy subject right now seeing as how i lost 2 friends on tuesday because of racing

i wasnt acting out against 4rr , hes just immature

and street racing is more of going out and racing to see who wins and its just dumb .... if im going 100 on a highway and i go to 130 its not exactly racing....

I go out almost every day that I can to look for races.

I really hate coming home without finding someone to **** with. It bums me out. I race people on the street all the time. Everyone does, even you Kevin. So stop pretending like you have never raced anyone on the street 'cause now we know your lying.

My family is from Ann Arbor and I hate going there. Its way to ******* cold for me.
