^ to add to what i just said...i didnt read any of the resposes because i know where this arguement is going to go ... and its so fought over and i dont care right now

all i know is i have lost 4 friends because of street racing, 2 were racing....the other two were hit by idiots racing down the street at 3pm in the afternoon

im not getting into an arguement.....i just hope when you "Street Drag Race" and you get in an accident that you take only your life and not anyone else - like you said its your choice and you take risks........just think about what would happen if you hit an explorer, and it flips over, and it crushes 2 of your good friends along with 3 other of their friends that were on the way to the beach.....

: and do i street race?...no i dont..... have i street raced? no i havent...... i may speed on the highways and have fun on a few roads....but i do it resposibly and i dont hit the limits....because i know if i want to run my car for 15 - 40 dollars you can do it all you want all day long at a safe regulated place made for it

think of it as stealing....you can pay for the race and be safe and legal.....or you can do it for free and risk getting in serious trouble

this areguement is worn out anyways, everyone says they don't street race and say how dangerous it is, untill a ricer with a fart pipe cuts them off. I'm not for it nor against it. I have street raced, but don't do it that often.

Someone please define street racing for me.

Is it when people go out to a designated spot and race or is it anyone who races on the street period. Even if you are trying to go faster then the other guy so you can merge.

I am always up for ther moment. I do not however weave through traffic to prove something. If we are at a red light I will race you to 60 MPH. I do not launch on the street either it is a dead givaway that your racing.

I have taken it to the track for test and tune nights and it SUCKS. The first time I went to the track was with my Mustang and I almost hit the wall in third gear the track was in such poor shape it should have been closed and refunds should have been given out. I get better traction in a rain storm.

Every time I go I have to wait anywhere from 1 hour to 2 hours between runs. So if I get 3 runs in in 5 hours I am doing good.

I do not codone street racing I would ever even watch the illegals. I shudder of the thought of a 16-18 year old racing too.

But dont be a hypocrit and say you NEVER race on the street.

BTW - I have on occasion taken it to 100 in a race but it was on a highway and there was nothing in front of me.

Jim,

Let's not be calling names. Some of us actually practice what we preach.

You have never floored it to get in front of the guy next to you to beat him to the merge?? You always hit the breaks and get behind.

If do I opologize and admire you. You have way more self control than I do. I spent all this money on my car and yes I do race in organized events but I will admit it puts a giant smile on my face to ruin a C-5 owners day when he smirks at my little 80's car.
