I'm not sure of what the equivalent of Wal-Mart is in Australia (i'm assuming it's a large chain of shops like Gras Bros/Myer), but they should honor a replacement.

If not, ask for the manager and they'll buckle faster than something that buckles really fast.

wal-mart replaces everything.. even without a receipt.. if they give you a hard time, just be an **** customer and you'll get your way..

Its going to be a pain in the *** though since I used my friends "Associate Discount" to buy the PS2. I'm pretty good at pissing wal-mart off enough to get my problems corrected. Got 2 Free bikes from them last year so I think I can handle the PS2 and Game. lol
