Since you've never pulled an engine out yourself, you can't do it yourself now. You'll most likely need your dad. If you do it by yourself and mess up you'll just end up going to your dad to ask for help and of course he's going to give you that "i told you so" look. So just listen to Dad for now.

Good news, i talked him into it. Well sorta, he knew i was pissed, and he walked in my room this morning (i didn't go to school overslept) and tossed me a book.

for most schools no but we went. They took a vote of the school, we took away one or two of our days we didn't really want and added em onto spring break.

Sorry, my dad devorced my ma when i was 2 years old and hasn't helped me out with anything yet. But i have a friend who's dad sounds like you're dad. Just do it, after he see's that you know what you're doing he will eather help you or just give you cash to finnish the job.
