No, i wouldn't say so, if you buy a junk bike yer gonna be looking for something different in 6 months, the r6 gives plenty of room for growth. It is JUST a 600 cc bike LOL cute little things

Respect it, don't fear it, or you'll be dead. If fear her, you should not be on her.

Becarefull....lowering the sprocket in the front, plus the back too much is going to put a lot of strain on the chain, and you will end up eating up teeth like crazy. Its best to leave the front and go bigger again in the back.

i'm selling it because i need more hp

i grew out of the 600 after the first week

the bike is only as good as the rider.

if you get one just remenber to trust your bike.
Im sorry but I have to dissagree with this statement!

From what I gather from reading that is that you must be a straight line rider. A 600 has more potential then you can imagine. Yes you may have to rev the crap out of it to keep up on the highway, and where is the fun in that. but the fun is in the twisty roads and on ramps to the highway. Too many peeps think they need all this power, and it never gets used untill they do a roll on with someone else. But anyone can do that. When you get your knee down fully on the ramps of the highway or the nice sweepers on the side roads then were having fun. I have been ridding for 10 years both street and track. Out of all the bikes I have owned the 2000 GSX-R 750 i had was the best. Better then the 1000 I own now. Ya the 1000 has the power to pull your arms off, and its fun, but damn i could throw that 750 into a corner FAF. Ya im sure your thinking that you do that now right? but what you think is fast and what i or one of my fellow racers considers fast would be two different stories. I dont mean to doubt you but if this is your first bike i can bet that as fast as you could take an on ramp that bike would do it twice as fast with an experienced rider.

I'm not trying to flame, its just i know so many peeps that ride a bike and want to sell it the next year cause they think it doesnt have enough power, but in reality they haven even seen the bikes full potential

Hey guys. I am looking to get a crotch rocket in a few months. I have wanted one for a while and know that i want a Yamaha R6. My question is this, knowing i will have to take out a loan of about 10 grand (keep in mind i will need a new helmet and stuff), what suggestions do u have as to loan type, what i should buy with it (not mods im going to kill myself as it is), etc?
Is this your first bike? The R6 you want, will it be brand new? From experience of my self and many other riders i know, DONT BUY A BRAND NEW BIKE AS YOUR FIRST! Not because of the power(well it is but i wont get into that) but for the fact that chances are you will dump it one way or another. Either ridding or sitting in a parking lot loosing your balance. Parts are not cheap for these, espestialy if you buy new ones from factory. If an R6 is what you really have to have, then I would reccomend an older one. At least this way if you need parts they are very easy to come buy used and cheaper.
