ok so ive had a fair share of run-ins with the cops, and have used my lawyers to avoid jail multiple times. Due to this i spent much time studying and remembering laws, things that can or cant be done, how to prove what happened etc. Basically im loophole king. Hell i ran from a cop, got caught in a dead-end and talked my way out of any ticket. And im talking all out, WOT in the T2, i thought i found a dead-end and unfortunately was right, but thats a different story.

Anyway, here's a major thing you need to learn. The cops major power is FEAR. You heard "arrest" and thought "ticket" etc and bam you were putty in their hands.

Here's the deal. Witness sees you speeding, the only thing a cop can do is find you and watch you, if he notices something like the "3time rule" (you hit or cross a solid or dashed street marking 3 or more times) or you are driving extra cautious since he became visible etc. He'll pull you over saying there was reasonable cause.

He seems to have done that the proper way depending on how you acted.

Now he pulls you over, i dont wanna tell you how to act but here's how you make a cop happy. Pull over, turn car off, turn radio off, if smoking put cig out in ashtray, keep seatbelt on, do NOT reach for info, sit there with your hands on the steering wheel (not on your lap or at your sides, this presents a possible "reach for a weapon" or something that can make the cop feel vulnerable). Let him come to the car, when he asks for the information let him know where it is as you go to reach for it so he is aware of why you reach where you reach.

Now sometimes this part works sometimes it doesnt, depends on the cops attitude. As you give him your info make small talk asking **** like "may i ask why i was pulled over" whatever. When he speaks LOOK AT HIM, LET HIM KNOW IT IS REGISTERING IN YOUR HEAD. Give an apology, NOT an excuse, he's heard all the excuses before you saying another one will **** him off. In this case however your speedo cable excuse works, especially if you can demonstrate it. But if your excuse was "im late to work" you're better off apologizing.

Generally you want to talk BEFORE he goes back to his car, if you dont talk before he goes it's like 80% positive youll get some kind of ticket.

When he comes back even if you get a ticket, act like a man, dont whine or bitch, next time he sees you he might let you go.

Also if you live in New Jersey here's my wonderful tip. Don't wanna deal with a cop and try to talk out of a ticket? If you're wearing your seatbelt when he pulls you over, wait for him to get out of his car and make sure hes looking at you/your car, then take off your seatbelt. I've been pulled over doing 80 in a 45mph road and had this trick work. I sinmply got a seatbelt ticket and was done.

Also delivering pizza is a great way to get out of tickets, just always keep a pizza bag in your car. For the first week or two of delivering pizza i got pulled over tons, i'd always be like "im delivering pizza i just started like the other day and im gonna be late im really in a hurry.' half the time they just said "ok" and went back to their cars and i was on my way. For the year and a half i worked delivering pizza i basically owned the streets, doing like 90mph past the police station, u-turns in the middle of major roads, etc. cops knew who i was, what i was doing, and they turned a blind eye to it.

anyway enough of that novel.

kevin.

edit: BTW if pulled over at night turn your interior lights on. The key to a friendly officer, is an officer that "feels" safe when approaching your vehicle.

yeah i always do all of that stuff bc i know i would hate to be a cop walking up to a strangers car at this day in time. i will add one thing to that though and that is turn off or unplug your radar detector. usually when the cop is right behind you he will still have his radar on and your detector will be going nuts, i know the v1 just makes a solid loud ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh as long as the radar has a "lock" on your car, im sure at that point the officer will have no pity for you, especially if he pulled you over for speed

Wow Kevin - good advice.

And I think how the seatbelt trick works is he sees you're sorry but still has to do something - and gives you a ticket for the seatbelt and lets you off the other.
