wouldnt a 400hp FD be as fast as 500hp piston car, or close to it with better handling?

If a piston engine with 500 HP were in an FD, against the exact same FD (meaning same mods) with 400 HP rotary. The 500 HP one would definately win in a straight line, on a road course it would be close, but I think the 500 HP FD could pull away in the straight sway.

So just because it's a rotary doesn't mean it's faster/better.

And as for the WRX motor, if you are taling about a new one, 1st off, isn't that a 4 banger? If it is, there is no way I would ever put that in there, there is only 2 kinds of engine's that I TRUELY like, one is the rotary, and the other is an inline 6.

2nd, wouldn't it be hard to find a motor that new? Unless your talking about an old one.

Yeah the WRX engine is a flat four.

I like the inline sixes myself, but they are long and heavy. I think for a road car the best piston configuration would be a V6, maybe a V8. But I can't stand the sound of a V8, while on the other hand, there is no sound better than a good inline six at least as far as piston engines go.

Yeah, that's why I like the inline 6, because it is physically the smoothest running engine out there. Because when ever weight is being throw to one side, there is always weight being thrown to the opposite side.

And the supra engine's sound awsome

It must have taken me a good 5 minutes to figure out what in the hell you were talking about rfreeman27.

And then I just realized the WRX's had a flat 4. I thought that they had inline 4's.

That flat 4 might be pretty cool, but I think it would be more fun to make an MR RX-7. And use a Porsche or similar engine

Okay reasons why not to buy a supra, of any sort.

A.)Weight, weight, weight, these things weigh a ******* ton..no, almost three tons.

B.)Price, even the older 80s turbo models are jacked the **** up, they're in that whole small sport MR2/Starion/DSM/Supra Craze, at least here anyway.. Market value might be low, but that doesnt mean **** when almost everyone wants 10k for their god forsaken MR2.

C.)Insurance, MOST supras will carry a HUGE burden with you in insurance costs. The newer, the more they will rape you. Now if you're middleaged or older, and have a clean record...sure, but most of us arent..

I know how much of a quality product Toyota puts out. Their inlines have been proven to be some strong *** engines. Especially their 2JZ-GTE they can withstand 1,000 horsepower with stock internals. (and yes, I've had 20 page battles over that, and no, I don't want to start one..so, just swallow it)

isnt it a delightful feeling when people badmouth you for using their coveted chasis for an engine swap? I got people telling ME what a 302 CAN and CANNOT do, I mean it's like, you don't see me trying to educate people about rotaries, I know how they work, sure.. I could do a couple things to them..But, ****..don't tell me I can't make such and such power with such and such money.

The moral? He bought the damn car. Do what you want to your car. But don't sit here and tell him what, and what not to do..that's just fucked up.

****, you guys want me to butcher a FD? I'll go get a roller FD RZ from *Japan* tub the bitch, put some big *** mickey tompsons out the back, a 455 blown pontiac, with a HUGE *** intake sitcking out the hood. Open headers running down the side of the fenders buring them with the hot exaust gasses, **********in' rebel flag in place of the antenna... We'll talk about ruined. Cause this **** right here, that aint ruined, not by a damn sight.

Uhhmmm, your about 1 ton off there buddy, they weigh 3600 lb's.

MKIII and earlier supra's sell for $5000 and under. MKI MR2's sell for 3000 and under. Wer are you getting this stuff?

Let's ask the judge's .....

They say your wrong again! My brother is 19, and he has an 88 NA, the insurance is about 100 a month (liability)

Now I am 16, and I havge an RX-7. And my insurance is 125 a month (also liability). Damn go figure!

Not over any period of time!!!

It will hold 1000 HP on stock internals for about 1, 1/4 mile run, anmd then they go, bend!

Swallow that, biatch! (Yes, the ebonics were sarcastic!)

I don't men to sound offensive, I just like supra's ALOT!

If I didn't have an RX-7, I would have a Supra, or an MR2.

So

88 NA! That is NOT a turbo. Turbo cars weild a higher insurance rate. Whose name is the RX-7 in title wise and insurance wise? From what I hear, akien is a small *** town, I know people with full coverage on vettes paying 80 bucks a month, does that mean the same for any city/state? Nope ;p

Wanna argue market value in other states? It's a very redundant battle. Decent supras and MR2s go for 5-10k around here. Yeah, you can pick up a beatershit N/A for less than 3 grand, but why?

The tonage thing is right, my ignan't *** is used to thinking a ton was 1,000lbs. That's on me..but 3,600 lbs..that isnt very light ;p

I don't really like supras, the earlier gens are okay, but they're fat *****s. The newer one is a fat ***** dyno queen..so I still don't like it. :P

OK whatever.

Although MKIV's are not dyno queen's! And all supra's ride the road like their on rails.

And really aren't sport's cars, becauser they are truely GT cruisers. So they shouldn't be compared again's a little anerexic 7, or MR2.
