And have you ever owned a 7M???? My brother NA has 180,000 miles on it, and it doesn't burn an once of oil, and has never had anything other than regular tune ups... So how are they hard on valve seals? A statement that generallized is hardly ever true!
Toyota 6-cylinders burning oil is an imfamous problem. No, I have never owned a 7M, but I know lots of others who have. I've talked to the owner of one of the fastest 7MGTE MkIII's Supras in Hawaii, and he was an exec at the Toyota dealership. I trust his experience over yours anyday. Just because your brother's car doesn't burn oil, how do you justify that single vehicle versus all the others? Toyota knows about the problem, so ask any Toyota tech about it. Any 7M Supra, Cressida driving around nowadays is burning out out the tailpipe - look for it. Don't be blaming the turbos, cause this also happens on all the non-turbo 7M's.

And I'll put money on it, that if you are in the US, you can't do a 20B swap for what I have in this car! I haven't even cross $2,000 yet! Don't BS me and tell me you can do a 20B swap which will cost $4500 for the front clip alone, let alone all the custom parts inbetween. And you saying it could smoke almost anything I can do to the 7M, WITH better relaibility... I've never seen a fully tuned 20B, but I've seen a 7M just short of 800 HP. It probably wasn't that reliable, but if a 20B make that and be reliable, I would like to see it, I'm not saying it can't, I've just never seen it!
Sure, it's all about resources.

We just got out 20B-FC up and running, and this is the price break-down...

$2,000 20B

$1,000 Haltech E6K

$300 MSD DIS-4

$200 upgrade radiator

$1,000 OS Giken triple plate

$1,000 miscellaneous - dual stock FC oil coolers, custom header, custom exhaust, two mufflers, custom intake, spark plug wires, engine mounts, three FC leading coils, custom hoses and lines, welding materials and consumables, electrical supplies, etc.

The car is currently being run NA, but it would've been easier to run the stock twin turbos. The 20B will go turbo in the near future. The clutch is overkill, but we know it won't be overpowered when we go big turbo system.

The car is RUNNING. So far, we've got it tuned only up to 4,000 RPM, and not even close to the 0 manifold pressure (i.e. WOT) as we ran out of time trying to prep for a drift event for this past Saturday.

Yup Rotaries suck. - Glad to have you on our forum...

Right...... I don't know who your talking to. But if I hated them, I honestly don't think I would be driving a 1990 Vert......

You are talking about a piston engine swap on nopistons.com.

You gotta expect a little 'heat'.

Are you some kinda sissy or something?

I noticed you've got an identical thread in the OTHER forum on the same thing, and I recognize your nick there - that explains everything.

I didn't say this was impossible.

I didn't even say the engine was junk.

I commented on the valve seal problem, which is pretty well known in the Toyota community. And you get upset at that?

I'm not against piston engine swaps in FC's.

I've seen some pretty interesting swaps myself that were not rotary.

I have a problem with the owners who get really defensive about what they are doing and think their piston engine swap is the magic potion that cures all of the RX-7's downfalls. For every counter you put up, and I can put up a counter for a rotary engine. You're quoting some pretty spectacular claims there, and I find most of them unreasonable (no 7M is going to be reliable at 800hp - in fact, no 2JZ is reliable at that kinda power levels even though the JZA80 crowd will make them sound like they can do that all day long). I mean...come on...stop hyping up the 7M. The 7M is still a pretty hefty motor, and it's really long (inline 6)...especially compared to a 13B. Sure, it has a lot more power and torque potential, but this is not a swap for just anybody.

I commend you for going with this swap, as it's a logistical nightmare (compared to my 20B swaps). Cutting the firewall is not something I would recommend, but your work looks pretty solid, and I hope you post good results when it's all done and running.
