Hey guys,

Well, after 9 months of having a broken Vert, I finally ordered a reman TII engine.

I have done NA to TII swaps but only on S4 coupes. This time is going to be an S5 TII into a S5 Vert. Is going to be all stock including the ECU (370) and pressure sensor n370.

My question is the harness, can I reuse the harness from the NA.

I haven't looked it completely to compare but did see a big difference, the TII harness has not AirBag system while the NA has the Air Bag connectors. I want to retain the Air Bag system.

Would the S5 have the correct connectors and connections for the ecu N370 ecu to work correctly? I rather keep that tear up the na harness to get the extra loom out for the air bag system.

Did some S5 TIIs come with ABS?

I mean do S5 TIIs come with airbags?

Carlos

Since my S4 TII came with ABS, I'm quite sure that some if not all S5's came with it also.

As for the airbag wiring, I know that stuff is separate from the regular harness, it doesn't plug into the ECU. Not sure about the rest, but I'm swapping a piston motor into my S5 vert, and I kept the ABS wiring.

I would try to get my hands on a TII harness.

Someone has to have one from going standalone.

I know on my S4 car the only thing with the harness was the wipers, the rest is all motor.

I cant see the NA harness being the same.

Yeah, like is not part of the harness but mine got bundle with it to go thru the wire wall. Don't want to hack it yet.

You need to separate out the airbag harness. Its not that hard. It has nothing to do with the engine harness, or the ECU.

There are two wires which need to be changed to use the NA harness on a TII engine in an S5. Very easy.

Neither harness needs to be 'hacked' for the swap. Search around to find what wires need to be changed. It takes less than 5 minutes to do the search, and complete the harness changes......together.

And only verts had airbags in 2nd gen RX-7's. However ABS has been an option since 1987.

Sounds good, i will just swap the wires, this harness is in excellent condition.

Any one know the wires?

This project is on its way.

Got the reman from malloy and a whole bunch of goodies from mazdatrix, i made their day yesterday.

Stock turbo is rebuild.

Oil cooler, intake manifolds got a good ultrasonic cleaning.

Got the fuel injectors cleanned by RC.

This has become a very expensive project.

I found the 2 wire to move, the one for the knock sensor and boost solenoid.

The boost solenoid is easy. I'm going to be **** about this and transfer the same wire for the knock sensor from the TII harness and graph in into the NA harness. The reason is because is a shield wire instead of running the unshielded wire from the VDI solenoid.
