Thumbs up

Hey guys,

So my S5 TII conversion is done. Well is been done since July and got the hood painted in sept and made it to seven stock.

Now I'm cleaning up and fixing little things here and there in my turbo vert.

Last time I made a NA to TII swap on an S4 coupe everything whet well. I replaced both side of the engine harness. I swapped out the small harness that plugs the instrument panel to the rest of the harness because it had a wire missing for the stock boost gauge. It worked with no problem the stock gauge.

Now I'm trying to do the same on the S5 vert but no harness was swapped. I just swapped the few wires it needed and everything works. I was swapping out the S5 na INSTRUMENT panel for a TII one because I wanted a functional TII boost gauge for looks since the car will always be stock. I don't want to put an aftermarket boost gauge.

After studying the factory schematics I notice that there is a wire missing that splices in from the boost sensor(ecu harness) to the ecu. So I set on a mission, looked at my old S5 TII harness and found the wire from the boost sensor splits near the ecu into another yellow male plug that plugs in under the dash. To double check. I went to the vert and look at the harness under the dash where the female end is and found to my surprise that the other side of the female end has the the wire missing

On the S4 it was not the case but that was a coupe, this is a s5 vert.

Is this sort of thing some people have run into when wanting to us a Stock TII boots gauge in a vert?

I hope this makes sense.

so the NA dash harness doesnt have the wire in it? S5's are kinda like that, they didnt put the wires in for the stuff teh car didnt have, like power windows.

if you have a small screw driver or paperclip its easy to pop a pin out and run that wire

Yeah,

That's what I mean, how come the S4 have the wires for everything but not the S5. I just wanted to confirmed that and that I was not going crazy. I must of looked at it 3 different time with different flash lights.

Yeah, I know is easy popping out the wire but I wasn't counting I had to run the wire so I feel lazy. I was ready to just slice in and go.

Mike,

I also notice at the pressure sensor male plug differences between the harness.

The NA harness has 3 wires going to it while the TII harness has 4 wire but only using 3 spots on the four prong plug. On slot has 2 wires in it, is it for ground????

Ever seen this?
