Im doing a 13b cosmo swap and im going to run a turboII ECU until i can afford to upgrade to the haltech. My car is a 1987 N/A FC. Which turbo ecu should i use 87-88 S4 turbo ecu or an S5 89-91 ecu and also will the N/a harness work with the ecu or will i have to get the turbo harness as well. I'm assuming you need to turbo harness but im just curious.

will the s5tii work with the 13RE OMP? or will it throw codes and go into limp mode?

If the plugs all fit, I don't see why it shouldn't work.

the cosmo engine is like a mix between an s5 engine and a 13brew. i am currently putting one into my fd and i am using half cosmo plugs and half fd plugs, but this is with a microtech. i am thinking you should be able to get away with using an s5 harness and i would use the s5 ecu.

issues I can think of using a s4 ecu is going to be the high impedance injectors, controlling the metering pump, and metering the air, as the cosmo used manifold pressure. You might want to see about modifying the s4 metering pump to work, I'm not even sure that's possible because I think the s4 is smaller. I've always run premix so I'm not very familiar with adapting omp's.

the tps on the cosmo motor is totally different, but still runs on a 5v scale so can probably be tweaked. You might even be able to run the air flow meter instead, but that would be a restriction.

switching to a s5 would solve the omp problem as the tps on the cosmo has two leads for the omp, but you still have the air flow meter to contend with.

If it were me, I'd save a couple bucks (and some hair)and premix, and go with some type of stand alone. Actually, that IS what I did.

[sarcasm]however there is a 240 guy running around here somewhere that would help you with the stock ecu swap, because he watched his buddy do one on a honda [\sarcasm]

Ok here is the poop. If your going to use a stock ecu use the S5 one. it will run the elect. omp. now the problem is the ecu will not be able to run the car to its potential ( it will actually run pretty poor) compaired to how it should run.. you will need to cut and splice the wire clips. the cosmo wire connections will not fit the FC ones. ( a pain in the ***.) over all not worth doing just save more cash and get the system that you need...only do things like this once. thats my .02
