Why don't try try to convince me otherwise instead of just editing posts, don't be a communist.
Ya I like how they say that after "minor modifications", it can have "very close" to a 50/50 weight distrobution.
One you read the fine print it tells you that you need to relocate the battery, use an aluminum radiator, remove a/c ect. Don't sound so minor to me.

I think the swap is nice. As long as it's clean and functional, it's all good in my book. Now, if it was haphazardly slopped together, I'd bash it. But it's not.
Besides, put a 150-200 shot of Nitrous on that car and it's 10's all day fellas.
And it won't blow up.
Sitting right there you have a 12 second, daily drivable 150K+ mile car. Won't see any FD's like that, sorry.
I stuck with the rotary... However for the money I've invested, I could have done the LS1 swap, and had a spare motor sitting around to do something crazy with.
Yes, it's a piston engine... But one that should get some respect... Especially when it will hand US our asses.

Everyone has a good point. Got to give him respect for what he accomplished and it is nice to see, But in my opinion that is no longer an RX-7 after that convesion. Again, Im not saying it sucks but to me, you remove the soul of the RX-7 by going with V8. Although it would be awesome to see in the street.

Jspec- you'd appreciate this conversion
...how about this...when that car(or you car for that matter) can outrun MY FD...I'll "appreciate" that conversion.

Here's the stats on this car taken from their website.
1993 Mazda RX7 Touring Model (Auto)
3.90:1 gear
Total Weight: 2,831lbs (50/50 F/R ratio)
2001 LS1 T56 combination
Stock Heads
Mild cam (221/221 .558/.558 114)
Estimated ~350rwhp
Performance
11.4 @ 120mph
Here's a copy/past of their FAQ
Does the car still have Power Steering?
Answer) Yes, all H7 cars will use the stock RX7 power steering rack. However, many of our customers choose to remove power steering for a better feel of the road.
Their time/weight as of March 9th.
3/9/2003 - Montgomery Motorsports Park
The best time of the day was an 11.4 @ 120mph.
Est HP: 350rwhp Weight: 3,025lbs (w/ driver)
stock FD's run in the weight are of 2800 to 2900 lbs. without driver, so with a guy who weight 150 lbs...a stock FD will weigh 2950 to 3050 lb with a driver...pretty damn close to 3025 lbs w/driver IMO. I fail to see how this car has 300 lbs more than a stock FD....unless your not including the driver.
As far as braking distance...the engine's weight within 30 lbs of each other...I fail to see how that's relevent in braking.
Don't get me wrong...I wouldn't do it because my 13B engine rebuilds are cheap( had one that cost me a whole $90~) But give it credit...it's a clean install, lots of attention to detail and doesn't hurt the cars handling that much. They're not Mazda Engineers...just some guys who got an idea in their head. They build their idea on an FD platform...which says a lot about the stock Chassis of the FD....so they know it has way more advantages than the boats these engine's normally go into.
