it could just be a rotted out oil line like suggested above. there are a **** ton of sonnecting lines and crush washers that could be focked up.......get in there and get dirty and find ou twhere that **** is coming from..... you will enjoy it.....

Shaft play is when you can wiggle the shaft back and forth. Like the wheels are loose in the housing. You should be able to "spin" the wheels with your fingers. Not like spin it and it goes for seconds or anything... But rotate a few times.

I swear mine look brand new.... I HOPE a line is fucked up somewhere and was leaking oil into the exhaust... But I dunno...

Another thing... I've never pulled apart a turbo... There are seals correct? Like ones that can go bad and oil will spill into the airflow? Or would excessive shaft play be caused from bad seals? Thanks!

Why not rebuild them. Doesn't Peter Farell rebuild them. Or try to get a used one. Unless you have the money and was planning on upgrading the turbos anyway. But yeah your turbos are gone. My friends 3rd gen Did the same thing yours is doing right now. He bought a used one from a friend for 400 bucks and Bam! The problem went away and now he's boosting 13psi.

That's tempting... But I'd rather go a little less expensive route so I can get a better computer...

Only problem is I really don't think they are gone now after pulling them... It's worrying me....
