I have a little icon on the center console that says "factory alarm" but its never gone off or done anything...

You lock both of the doors from the inside to arm the alarm. Then If someone usles any thing other than a key to uinlock them or open them the alarm goes off. The head lamps flip up and down and the horn beeps and the lights also flash. It also will not start until you put the key in the drivers side outer door lock and unlock the car.

Its pretty usless IMO.
