Just to clarify, dont hit the clutch PEDAL with teh slave unbolted. It will push the slave piston past the seals.

are there any good how to's/guides out there or manuals we should get before we do this? a chiltons or haynes, or maybe a mazda manual?

That video shows one how to rebuild a short block. Not pull an engine from a car.

 

he has another video for engine pull..... we used it as a guide for taking out mazdamike's engine
