Red face

Does anyone know who makes this intake or would it have been a custom job? Have been looking at a few and this seems to be quite compact and tidy.

ebay intake pipes with kn filters... hot air intake unless you make a custom heat shield, and very noisy

it's noisy because all the small hoses are just vented, you'll get all the noises from these. Charge air bypass, air pump, etc. I'd recommend a heat shield, there's a template in the other forum, search for Damian's posts

Yeah I would probably fab a custom box at the same time. I don't see any real benefit in going from stock set up to this without putting a some sort of heat shielding in there.

I'm wanting to do this for the same reasons you are I guess. Looks as though I'll have plenty of room for large SMIC or a V mount with also having enough room for heat shielding around the filters.

batty,

theres no benefit of running this setup over my setup right now (stock airbox with racing beat cold air duct). My setup is probably the BEST way to go for actual air temps HOWEVER, my setup is the worse way to go for getting a different IC because I can't physically run one . So yes, I'll probably actually lose a little HP but while at speed .. with the proper ducting and sheilding, i don't see any issue with intake temps being outrageous.

I actually like this look over the HKS and other such filters, and i might even fab up a cover for the filters as well , im going to make the box out of carbon fiber using the diagram from RX7club for the heat sheild as well.

here is the diagram for you. http://www.myrx7.com/images/damians_intake...ld_template.pdf

^ I see. I prefer this over the HKS and the Trust intakes as well. I know it probably won't work as well as the stock in terms of cold air temps, but stock setup limits what ICs I can use so out it goes. But only once I have my IC will everything change.

Thanks for the template.
