I polished it. It's not chrome, but yes I did it. It's not hard to polish parts. It is very time consuming though.

You really have to have alot of patience or really good buffers.

I can start a thread and pin it in the 3RD GEN FAQ. I do hear that question alot "how did you polish that?"

Th actuators can be removed because you will no longer be needing them after you go nonsequential.

The valves on the bottom of the UIM are for the ISC and AWS. The AWS slams the car to 3,000 rpm as soon as you start it which equals a bad idea. That's why you would ditch it. The ISC or IAC (idle speed or idle air control) changes the idle speed according to to the car's needs. If you turn on your a/c then it will bump up the idle a few hundred rpm. It does the same thing whenever there is high electrical load on the car, i.e. headlights on. i know people who say you don't need the ISC, but I kinda like it. I'm not sure if the haltech will let you keep it, though. good time to check the manual.

I am trying to remove everything that is not neccessary. It will help for 2 reasons one is that I can make for a smotther air flow through the intake tract the other is the less mass there is on the intake the cooler it will be - no hot spots.

I do believe the Haltech will allow you to bump the RPM's when you add load such as A/C.



I wish I could post pics of the port job but I am not doing it and my mechanic is very secretive about this stuff.
