I am porting my FD intake and have a few things that I have run into that I hope some of you can help with. I will post pics tomarrow to help clarify what I am talking about.
There are 2 sets of butterfly's 3 on the throttle body and 2 on the plenum. I want to remove the 2 on the plenum are they absolutely neccesary?? There was another issue too but I am too tired to remember. I will try to post some pice tomarrow and ask the other question then. FYI - I am removing all emmisions and installing a haltech and a T-o4E single. So anything on the intake that can be plugged or removed feel free to pipe in and tell me. |
The butterflies in the UIM can go, just plug the holes from the rod. You can block off the ACV, AWS, EGR, split air thingy, and even IAC if you want. Also, you can bock off the OMP. Make sure to premix now.

Will haltech control the OMP??
BTW - Thanks you were really helpfull. |
I don't think the Haltech can control the OMP, hence the need to block it off, and run premix. Which is an acceptable loss, considering the advantages of the ecu.

Can someone help fill in the blanks I cannot figure out a couple of these.
Thanks. UIM - ? ACV - Air control Valve AWS - ? EGR - self explanitory split air thingy - from the pollution pump IAC - ? OMP - oil metering pump |
UIM..Upper intake manifold
AWS...Automatic warm start.. You know how your car will rev at 3k when you start it cold..Totally unnecessary IAC? I am drawing a blank.. What is that abbr. ? |
Intake air control maybe?

Here is a pic of my double throttle removed. You have to drill out the little phillips head screws that hold it in. They are flattened into place. You should check the thread about this and porting in the performance mods area. |
Dave is indeed correct. Idle air control valve.

O.K. Here is a pic of the bottom of the intake. Can I remove these actuators??
