yeah the stock ECU will freak out if the OMP is fucked up or missing.

why would you ever remove the omp? why not keep it and premix.... or something similar like mmo, that way you get the normal oil from the omp and the added benifit of lubrication from the fuel injectors.....

by the way.....

is it omp or mop.... always wondered

also, if i am still using the omp/mop what would be better for the motor, mmo or a real 2 stroke syn oil? i thought mmo did the same thing and just lubricated and cleaned when injected into the combustion chamber....

Frestlye pointed out that you will have a better burn rate using the 2 stroke oil and also you gain some more space in the engine bay, which is the best reason I can think of..

well i took mine out, cause i have a haltech, and the omp isnt supported by it.....

personally i like it more, less **** in the engine bay, and 2 stroke burns better... mmo isnt a premix oil.... i dont know WHO spread that to the FD guys, but i havent heard of anyone but FD guys running it as premix!

the reason to premix is because premix oil (2stroke) will mix, lubricate, and get out of the system better than a heavier 4 stroke, you dont want the extra oil sitcking around

mmo is not that

Marvel Mystery Oil can be added to gas or oil. It combats internal motor rust and corrosion, lubricates valves, piston rings, upper cylinder walls, and eliminates valve sticking. Keeps rings free and reduces piston and cylinder wear. Also keeps fuel pump and carburetor parts clean, eliminating the need for frequent adjusting. Marvel Mystery Oil retards formation of power dissipating motor deposits, such as gums, varnish, and sludge.

Some ECU's don't support the MOP/OMP(doesn't matter, since they both mean the same thing).

For me, I run the PFC which does support the OMP. But I had a loose line running to my rear rotor housing. Without it running properly, it made the rear rotor housing wear very bad I told myself if I ever had a problem with OMP, I would remove it....so I did.

Besides, you will NEVER forget to add 2 stroke to your gas.

I used to use Protek R , the stuff Pettit sells.

But my case ran out and marvel mystery oil is about the same consistancy and works fine for a little added protection. If your using the OMP, 4oz. of MMO isnt gonna hurt anything. It will add some lube to the mix Of coarse when I take the omp off (ordered the block off two days ago) I will use a two cycle oil.

I'm not sure if the purple box will like the OMP being ripped out. You might want to unplug it and drive first to make sure it doesn't freak out, before you pull it off then have to put it back on.

**** that's right! I forgot Dave doesn't have a PFC If your running a stock ECU with a piggyback...it may not be a good idea.

for those that took out the omp did you take out the little oil jet inside the rotor housing before you blocked it off with a bolt.
