couldn't u just disassemble the whole thing and ship it seperatly h34r: then reassemble here and slap your own vin #s on it h34r: . I would like to import of of those last Rx-7s from Japan in like 5 years or so..
HELL NO ****! I'm way too lazy to do that! I would rather go thru the hassle of buying another one and rebolting on everything that I took back that was aftermarket. :bigok:

LOL...you're acting like I don't live in Japan...

The thing is that a newer FD(96+) would end up getting modified anyways, so why spend the extra cash on it? I'll be modding so much that it won't be worth it to buy a 2000 if I pulled the engine out anyways...

Jsperacer7 & J9fd3s after reading alittle bit on the website posted by J9fd3s you would have a good chance of getting good info from one of the RI companies listed there. My sugestion to you guys is to call one of them and ask the proper questions. As for importing a Jspec car I here it really isn't that hard. If you get one of these companies to do it for you you get it done right for a good price. We just had a guy come to Dyess AFB(Abilene TX) and he imported his 96 skyline. Sweet car. He went through Motorex. The car cost 7200(used) with 42k miles on it and the shipped/made DOT compliant for about $16,500 usd. Jspecracer7 either Bank of America or USAA will give you a loan to do this b/c they have realized the values of these cars. As for you J9fd3s you may want to think about getting one from England. It will cost you less and it will still be a J-spec RX7.

if you dig deeper, becomeing an importer is just one or three more forms.

i already have a us spec fd. if i fix it, its a keeper. if i sell it i want a j spec, or euro spec, uk spec, as long as its rhd.

I really wasn't saying to become an importer but that you can do. If that way is easier then maybe you might want to do that. Good luck.
