It will not stop the car from starting, but it will give you the annoying light. The blinking is the system teling you there is something wrong. The Air bag computer does a self test everytime you start the car, it does a sensor check of all the sytems in the air bag circut. Because you have removed the air bag the system cannot see it during its check. One way to get rid of the light is to find a resistor with the same ohm reading as the airbag (Mazda has these, they are used during diagnostic tests to simulate the air bag in the workshop). Just plug it in the connector or find out the resistance required and go to radio shack and pick one up and solder it inline where the air bag connector used to be. The other is to remove the light off the display panel, if there is no bulb, it can't blink.
