My hood release cable came loose or broke because the release has no tension to it. I was thinking of using the method of jamming rubber pads between hood and bumper til the hood is pryed up enough to slip something through the opening. but i dont undering what to hook to open the hood.

This actually happened to me recently, or a similar situation. I managed to get it open by using a coat hanger straightening it out and making an L shape at the end. I used that to pull the latch that the hood cable was connected to. it's in the back on the whole latch assembly but i got pretty good at it haha i can do it in under like a minute..

Scary......

Now people are going to start stealing engines with COATHANGERS hehe...

I heard of a RECALL here on the hood latch, I dont know if it pertains to the US spec version, but something to look into, get a FREE fix....maybe.........

Sorry, I know I'm bringing this back from the dead, but I just did the same thing. Does anyone have a picture of what to hook with the hanger? Thanks
