Ok so i was driving my car and all of a sudden it starts acting up. The engine starting dying on me.

ok, so these are the symptoms I am having:

1. the car has died while driving

2. it idles ok and stays on

3. it drives ok when driving slow but acts up when i hit the gas

4. when i accelerate hard the interior lights will start flickering and the RPM's (i think the boost too...im not sure, i was trying to figure out what was happening) start jumping up and down and the car wants to die (somtimes it will die)

5. when accelerating the car fells like it wants to die but i give it a little gas and it keeps the engine running mostly (sometimes it dies)

6. i can turn on the car(one time it started on the third try) after i pull over (even tried starting the car while in neutral and it worked)

7. one time all the interior lights were just off and i couldnt start the car back up...... i got out of the car and as soon as i closed the door i heard a little beep as if the power just came back on (like i knocked something back in place)....and sure enough i get back in and it starts

what i was doing before this happened:

1. installing grounding wires

2. i accidentally busted my main fuse when i touched the grounding wire to something behind the alternator

3. just got the car back a little while ago after being repainted (car didnt want to start after 2 1/2 months so it was flooded....did not replace plugs yet, only cleaned) when i did get it back the car was struggling when i accelerated but after a little it was fine. the car did not want to start one time when i put gas. it was working fine for about a week and then this problem happens.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Sounds most certainly like an electrical issue. Maybe a battery connection weak, corroded battery cables, loose alternator connection etc.

im sure it has to do with you crossing wires by the alternator

ok, so i think i found my problem.

i went ahead and removed the grounding kit (working backwards) to see where i went wrong. everything checked out.....until.......i noticed that there was a wire loose that should have been bolted along with the main fuse. (which would explain why the interior lights were flickering and even shut off a couple of times)

the reason i didnt notice it before was because it had wedged itself between two wires (not hanging so with a quick glance one would think the wire was connected) and was barely touching the partner wire with the fuse. so i guess it was still making contact (enought to power everything) but still loose enough to cut off power if moved around (bumpy roads and such) so its already late today and raining so im gonna see what happens tomorrow morning.
