i was thinking maybe the secondary injectors arent firing? is there a way to check if they are? it could also be the fuel pump relay or air pump relay, i took them both out when i was unflooding my engine. maybe something got messed up with the removal/install of the relays? i guess the only way to pin point the problem is to go through the service manual and check each diagnosis i can.

IF the car is running at all then the pump relay is fine. The best place to start is to check everything that you have touched. Check the charge piping for any cracks, tears, leaks, or couplers that have popped off.

Ok so I have found a couple spots under the UIM that look like they are supposed to have vacuum hoses on them. Could be a major part of the boost problem, So my question is, does anyone have a diagram of removing the UIM? I need to be able to get to all those hoses, but I'm not sure how to remove the UIM and get to them without skrewing something else up.

Are you sure you don't have the plug wires crossed? It will run almost like normal even if they are but when it goes under load all hell breaks loose. Popping, bucking and no power to speak of like you described.

Sometimes its the simple **** that can hang you up. I would double check them for ***** and giggles.

Sometimes the search can be your friend too.

good call with the spark plug thing. i easily could have switched them, but i just switched them and tried, same thing.. no boost. so i switched them back. a little more info, it feels more like the second turbo isnt kicking in, the car boosts to about 5 psi then put put put and the car starts jerking back and forth. like the second turbo is not kicking in, and instead maybe spinning backwards or something weird. what could cause this?

I would listen to FD3BOOST...

I had seq problem for about a year 4 years ago and it was a simple mistake such as crossing a vac line.

Its usually a simple thing that makes this car run like ***!

Print the diagram, check one hose at a time and cross it off on the diagram. Make sure all are connected correctly and you don't have any rips on them.. It might be a good time for you to swap out some old cracked lines.

Also, check your IC system. Make sure all your couplers aren't ripped. Stock couplers don't have reinforcement and rips easily. Take your couplers off and check and see if they are still good. When you do it, clean your IC..Most IC should be cleaned every couple of years.

Good luck!

well all the vacuum hoses have been replaced with silicone hoses so i dont think i have a problem with cracked or ripped vacuum hoses. one might have popped off somewhere. but like i mentioned before, the vacuum reads normal on the boost gauge, its just not getting boost past 5 and when it gets to about 3-5psi it starts jerking the car around until i take my foot off the gas. i could check the IC piping and couplers more thoroughly i guess, and i will double check all the other intake pipes and hose clamps and such. thanks guys. any other ideas of what could be causing this violent shaking?

Did you ever run that compression test? If you have not done that yet then you need to. You still could have a damaged motor. I drove around on a broke motor and made 424hp on a dyno to boot, all with two broken corner seals and a cracked apex seal. So don't neglect the compression test.

Once the engine compression checks out ok I would start to look into the ignition system. I would test the coils and inspect the coil harness and ground wire.

Once that checks out ok then I would look into your fuel system.

You have to make sure you are getting air/fuel, spark, and compression first. Once you know your good there you can start to suspect something with the turbo system. You have to eliminate the basics first.

I don't know why a boost leak would cause your car to buck and kick and this is why I am thinking that there is more to this than a boost leak.

If your convinced its just a turbo problem (I will not assume to know everything about your car) Then I would look at the precontrol accuator, turbo acctuator and the charge control acctuator. Make sure the rods are connected and they have proper movement. I have heard of them freezing up before.

This is assuming that you have double checked all your other vacum hoses and your precontrol soloniod.

Other than that it's beyond me. The sequential system is pretty complicated to have to trouble shoot. You might be better off hiring an experienced FD3S pro-shop if you cannot find the problem.

I know the engine is broken because the coolant seals are leaking. I'm having the engine rebuilt in the next couple weeks. I was just so excited when I got the car running again, that the turbo thing kind of pooped on me. I was just wondering if there were any simple tests or things I could check to get the car boosting properly again, before it goes under the knife. If not, all is good. I will have Derrin take a look at the boost problem as well. Im going to replace all the vacuum hoses for the second time, while the engine is being rebuilt, as well.(rather have red hoses than blue ) I'm also getting aluminum intake and IC piping, and putting in my new ignitor, and racing plug wires. I bought a new fuel pump which I will probably throw in with it, and I'll need a new computer as well. I will have Derrin take a look at the turbos too, after all they are as old as the car. Turbos could probably also use a rebuild, or single turbo setup. I'd like to go non-sequencial. I'm not new to rotaries, but I am new to turbo systems, so I'm not sure if non-sequencial would prove benificial or not. It's all a matter of time and money until I can really pinpoint the problem.

If your planning on rebuilding the engine I would not be worring myself over a boost leak right now.

Good luck with the rebuild.

I'm not worrying, just wanted to drive it fast ever since I got it up and running again. I'm greedy haha.
