well i have finally found out why my motor died and will not start up.....after a week of trying to figure out why i could never get it to start i have found out why. first i tried a compression test and was reading well----90-95 psi and three even bounces, everything looked good-----however, when i connected an air line to the spark plug hole and set pressure at 100 psi at the compressor i had air blowing all the way through past the intake..... so i started calling around and found that i can get a used engine out of texas with about 60-70k miles on it for around a thousand or a mazda crate motor for 2 thousand so i think im just going to go for the new engine.

many many many thanks to all of you that have tried helping me to get my baby going again

well if you are getting a reman eng. why not go all the way and get some mods do to, who are you getting the engine from? You can have a StageII streetpor done for about 300 more. Just something to think about

The motors from Mazda are pretty good. I have one in the 91 coupe, and it has been doing very well. If you're not going to do any major modifications to the car then it's a good option.

Yeah, I would say that you were revving that high. I would never take my car that high.

at first I thought, "big deal, I shift that high in normal driving, then I realized, your tach only goes to 8k, my redline starts then. ahhh, sometimes N/A isn't all that bad
