1. is the AST supoposed to be filled to the top? i noticed before and with the stock it never was. i checked the other day and it was full.

2. As of teh last 2 weeks or so ive had low voltage on my battery while starting it up. the only thing that ive noticed is that the AC fan randomly comes on. anyone know why this might be happening? i put an aftermarket fan on the condenser over 6 months ago and this is teh first time that this has happened.

thanks

My AST is always full to the top. Don't know about your second question though, sorry.

Sounds like possibly a faulty fan relay. They usually fail to turn on though. Not randomly turning on.

maybe your fans randomly turning on (possibly when you're not around)could be accounting for your dead battery.

AST -

Well, When you fill the coolant system, you are suppose to first fill the AST then the filler.

depend on your system, your AST will be full of coolant. AS the part's name, Air Seperation Tank, if you have any air in your system, you'll see some air and lower coolant level in your AST.. Or, you might have some issues with your overflow tank and sucking air back into the system when the engine/cooling system cools down.

FANS-

I don't know.. Sounds like electrical issue. But I'll tell you. I've recently took apart 4 extra stock fan motors apart and they are in shitty condition except one. I'm going to see if I could mix and match and build a good one. I now see why people should check their motors to see if their fans are kicking in correctly... Make sure its spinning at high speed. Two I took apart spun, but only at low speed. When taking it apart, coils are burnt and magnets are off the casing.
